Interesting facts: Tourists are usually surprised by symbol on the dome of the sacristy. They think that it is some kind of a mysterious and Masonic symbol. In fact, this symbol is traditionally Christian. Here the Greek letters “alpha”, “omega”, “hi” and “ro” are depicted. “Hi” and “ro” are the first letters of the name of Christ. “Alpha” and “omega” are taken from the Apocalypses, where you can find the words, saying by God: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End”.
