Name: Catherine the Great was loving theatre very much. This building was constructed for her own plays. This theatre was near the Hermitage painting gallery, that is why it began to call “Hermitage Theatre”.
Interesting fact: Catherine II herself often wrote pieces for performances at the Hermitage Theater.
