Name Origin: Catherine the Great loved theatre very much. This building was constructed for her own plays. This theatre was built near the Hermitage Art gallery. That is why it was called the“Hermitage Theatre”.
Interesting fact: Catherine II often wrote the plays for the Hermitage Theater by herself.
